Thousands of believers accompanied the procession of the «Virgen del Valle» The «Virgen del Valle » is a dedication of the Virgin Mary, whose apparition took place between 1618 and 1620 in the grotto of Choya, capital of the province of Catamarca, in northwestern Argentina. This year’s motto is: with Christ and Mary, let us walk together as a church. The feast of «Virgen del Valle» began on November 29 at 6 p.m. with the descent of the Virgin into the Cathedral Basilica presided over by the bishop Urbanc, where said festivities last until December 8 and culminate with the procession of the Virgin. This year it started from «Plaza El Maestro» to «Plaza 25 de Mayo.» The 8th of December with the procession of the «Virgen del Valle,» is a unique moment in the province of Catamarca with the participation of thousands of pilgrims from neighboring provinces and different countries, who together with the people of Catamarca come together to honor their patron saint.
